The street featured this and next week in “The Streets of Zurich” blog series is Seefeldstrasse, a street in Zurich’s 8th district that is very special to me. Indeed, it is the street I walk down every day from my place to get to the city center – and back. So it is almost surely the street I know best here in Zurich!
One of my favorite spots on Seefeldstrasse is Backbar, a small bakery and café offering a wide selection of sandwiches and salads over lunchtime.
Here are four of their veggie sandwiches I tried recently.
Sourdough bread sandwich with cheese (5,50 SFr.)
Backbar‘s sourdough bread sandwich is not big, but makes a very tasty “starter” street food. The bread is really delicious.
Antipasti sandwich (8,80 SFr.)
This is a huge and yummy, though also extremely greasy, sandwich filled with eggplant, tomato, dried tomato, mozzarella cheese, and cheese spread.
Curry vegetable sandwich (8,80 SFr.)
This is another big sandwich filled with vegetables and a very hot curry sauce.
Veggie wrap (8,80 SFr.)
This wrap is filled with couscous and vegetables. It also has a hot sauce in it.
