Madrid in black & white

Madrid, Spain’s capital city and its largest, is the third largest city of the European Union, with a population of over 3 million.

Madrid’s numerous landmarks of historical and cultural interest include the Royal Palace, the Buen Retiro Park, the Prado Museum, and the Reina Sofia Museum – just to name a few. The city also houses the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization.

Here are a few photos I took on my four-day trip to Madrid.

  1. bellissima Madrid, e in queste foto appare splendida. Mi è piaciuta molto (soprattutto per i suoi musei e la sua cucina), ma a dire il vero, nel cuore mi è rimasta Barcellona, molto meno elegante, ma più viva e variopinta; ecco, mette meno soggezione, mettiamola così! 🙂

  2. Some day I will go back to Madrid and see these historic buildings. I arrived the day before a Mediterranean cruise, and threw up in a taxi. The driver was so furious; he demanded I pay him extra and then go with him to the car wash to get it cleaned up. It was kind of scary. I think some tourists or maybe a policeman helped me get away from the guy as he went ballistic…not a good memory!!
